“Future Afro is what it means to be an African today. Recognising the misery and division that informs where we are at today while envisioning a future Africa which is empowered, strong, fashionable, technologically advanced in ways particular to the African experience.
We are not our colonial masters, we can take something from them but our motivations and solutions come from a closer connection with the land we stand on, with people power.
Are we all Africans? Can we embrace this identity across colour lines? Can we appreciate other Africans stories in a way that doesn’t threaten our own narrative but isn’t condescending or defensive? What do we want SA to look like in fifty years? Can we imagine an African Star Trek?
What does It mean to be a Future-African today or are we still locked in the past?”
